TFP Bureau, Raipur; January 29, 2024: The Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy embarked on a historic journey by organizing a five-day international training program for 50 judicial officers from Bangladesh. Representing the first international initiative since its inception, this program is a significant milestone in the academy’s commitment to enhancing the capacity and expertise of the judiciary.

The virtual inauguration of the program took place on January 28, 2024, with Chief Justice Shri Ramesh Sinha leading the proceedings from New Delhi. The event was graced by Honorable Justice Shri Sanjay K. Aggarwal, among other dignitaries, reinforcing the collaboration between the Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy and the National Judicial Academy, Bhopal.

Addressing the virtual gathering, Chief Justice Shri Ramesh Sinha extended a warm welcome to the Bangladeshi judicial officers, emphasizing the importance of sharing experiences and knowledge in the evolving landscape of the judiciary.

Justice Shri Sanjay K. Aggarwal, during his address, highlighted that the international training program resulted from the Memorandum of Understanding between the National Judicial Academy, Bhopal, and the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. He outlined the comprehensive curriculum, covering crucial areas of law and jurisprudence, recent developments in civil and criminal law, women’s rights, and child protection laws. Eminent speakers, including law college professors, senior advocates, and experienced judicial officers from Chhattisgarh, will conduct sessions throughout the program.

The inauguration program also featured insights from Justice Shri Rakesh Mohan Pandey, who emphasized the cultural connections between India and Bangladesh, citing Shri Rabindranath Tagore as the common thread through the national anthems of both nations.

Smt. Sushma Sawant, Director of Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy, expressed gratitude in the vote of thanks, and the program’s proceedings were skillfully conducted by Smt. Garima Sharma, Additional Director of the Academy.
