Chief Minister Visits Injured Soldiers, Vows to Intensify Fight Against Naxalites

Soldiers Undergoing Treatment at Narayana and Balaji Hospitals in Raipur

TFP Bureau, Raipur, January 30, 2024: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai visited Narayana and Balaji Hospitals in Raipur to meet the soldiers injured in the recent encounter between Naxalites and security forces in Tekalgudem, Sukma district. Inquiring about the soldiers’ well-being, the Chief Minister emphasized providing the best possible treatment to those undergoing medical care. Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, DGP Shri Ashok Juneja, and Chief Minister’s Secretaries Shri P. Dayanand and Shri Basavaraju accompanied him during the visit.

During the encounter in Tekalgudem, Sukma district, three security force personnel were martyred, and 14 were injured. Eight injured soldiers were transported to Raipur for advanced medical care and are currently admitted to Narayana and Balaji hospitals. Treatment for other injured soldiers is underway at the Medical College, Jagdalpur.

After meeting the injured soldiers at Balaji Hospital, the Chief Minister declared an intensified effort against Naxalites in the state, stating that Naxalism is on its last legs in Chhattisgarh. He expressed confidence in defeating Naxalism and eliminating it entirely in the times to come. The Chief Minister acknowledged the government’s commitment to providing basic facilities to the public, highlighting the establishment of new camps in remote forest areas to strengthen the security system.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai condemned the Naxalite attack, stating that the security forces were conducting search operations when ambushed by the Naxalites, who later retreated after a strong response from the soldiers. He expressed solidarity with the soldiers and their families, paying tribute to the three martyred personnel. The Chief Minister emphasized the intensified fight against Naxalites since the formation of the double-engine government in Chhattisgarh, resulting in increased effectiveness and uprooting of Naxalites in Maoist-affected areas.
