TFP Bureau, Raipur; January 31,2024: In a significant development, the Income Tax Department has initiated raids on the premises of Amarjeet Bhagat, the former Food Minister in Chhattisgarh. Simultaneous raids are also underway in Raipur, Durg district, and various locations across the state, with the IT team meticulously examining documents as part of their investigation. The raids have sent shockwaves through the state, drawing attention to the unfolding events.
Sources indicate that the Income Tax Department’s team executed raids in different regions of the state early today. Notably, the team targeted both the residence and office of former minister Amarjeet Bhagat in Ambikapur and Raipur MLA Colony, respectively. Teams from both Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have converged on Bhagat’s properties. Approximately 15 officers descended on Amarjeet’s residence at 7 am, with two teams actively scrutinizing documents.

Meanwhile, the IT team also conducted raids at the residence of businessman Amar Hora in Law Vista Society and Chandrabhan Sherwani in Rajiv Nagar, both in Raipur. Further actions unfolded with a raid on the premises of Sandeep Jain in Telibandha. In Durg-Bhilai, the house and office of Chauhan Group became another focal point for the ongoing Income Tax operations.
The IT team extended its reach to builder Ajay Chauhan’s office in Ramnagar and Chauhan Estate near Maurya Talkies. Additionally, they targeted Hanumant Rice Industries in Durg Green Chowk. The residence of SK Kejriwal in Panchavati Society, Bhilai, was not exempt, as the IT team arrived to scrutinize house number 32/8.
