Congress Spokesperson Vandana Rajput Accuses BJP of Deceptive Tactics in Mahatari Vandan Yojana

Alleges Change in BJP’s Stance Post-Election, Denounces Imposed Parameters and Conspiracies

TFP Bureau, Raipur; February 6, 2024: Vandana Rajput, the state Congress spokesperson, addressed concerns about the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of deceptive practices. Rajput claimed that during the assembly elections, around 70 lakh forms were filled from every married woman, promising the Mahatari Vandan Yojana under Modi’s guarantee.

It was assured that every married woman would receive the benefits, with Rs 1000 per month deposited into their accounts, starting from December. Women, trusting Modi’s guarantee, supported the BJP. However, once the government was formed, Rajput alleged a shift in the BJP’s stance.

Rajput stated that the Mahatari Vandan Yojana is now subject to various parameters. The first condition mandates benefits for married women aged 21 to 60. She highlighted that many families in Chhattisgarh marry their daughters at 18, expecting to benefit from the scheme. However, Rajput claimed that these young married women are being deprived of the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, calling it a conspiracy by the BJP.

She questioned the imposition of criteria such as marriage certificates and no priority for income taxpayers, arguing that these were not mentioned during the assembly election forms filled out by BJP leaders. Rajput accused the BJP of deceiving the women of Chhattisgarh and conspiring to withhold the Mahatari Vandan Yojana.

Highlighting the disparity between the BJP’s promises and actions, Rajput urged the women of Chhattisgarh to see through the deception. She accused the BJP of gaining power by misleading women and, under the guise of standards, showing disregard for the same sisters.

Vandana Rajput, Spokesperson, Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee, conveyed these concerns to the public.
