TFP Bureau, Raipur; February 7,2024: In a proactive move to aid Deepika Jogi, a resident of Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, who is currently held hostage in Muscat, Oman, State Congress President and MP, Deepak Baij, has reached out to Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai. Deepak Baij has penned letters to the Chief Secretary, DGP Chhattisgarh Police, District Magistrate Durg, and Superintendent of Police Durg, urging them to take urgent action in this matter.
The distressing situation came to light through media reports, revealing that Deepika Jogi, hailing from Ward 27 Shakti Nagar Road 16 Khursipar Bhilai District Durg, was sent to Muscat to work as a housemaid via a placement agency in Kerala on May 30, 2023. In a video message, Deepika detailed her harrowing experience of being subjected to inhumane treatment and torture by her employers. She expressed her desperate plea to return home, citing threats from her employer demanding Rs 3 lakh, warning of dire consequences otherwise.
Deepak Baij emphasized the gravity of the situation, highlighting the plight of a woman from their state stranded abroad. He urged swift intervention to facilitate the safe repatriation of Deepika Jogi back to her homeland. The urgency of the matter underscores the need for immediate action and collaborative efforts to ensure the well-being and safe return of the distressed woman.
