TFP Bureau, Raipur; February 7, 2024: The renewal process for all 7.7 million ration cards in Chhattisgarh’s public distribution system is currently underway, with applications pouring in since January 25th. As of February 7th, a staggering 4.38 million ration card holders statewide have submitted online applications for renewal. Additionally, beneficiaries can conveniently submit renewal applications through the mobile app offered by the Food and Civil Supplies Department.
The renewal drive, slated to continue until February 15th, has witnessed significant traction, with Balod district leading the charge. Out of the total 2.21 million applications received across the state, Balod district accounts for the highest number, with 1.70 million applications. Following closely behind is Kanker district, with 1.35 million online applications out of a total of 1.88 million beneficiaries. Dhamtari district secures the third position, with 1.73 million applications received for ration card renewal.
To streamline the renewal process, the Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Department have introduced a dedicated mobile app for ration card renewal. This user-friendly app is available for download on mobile phones via the Play Store or directly from the department’s website. Beneficiaries can submit their renewal applications conveniently through this app.
For beneficiaries without access to Android mobile devices or internet connectivity, the government has set up online application facilities in fair price shops. This initiative ensures that all eligible beneficiaries can participate in the renewal process, fostering inclusivity and accessibility.
