TFP Bureau, Raipur; February 10,2024: Today marks a historic milestone for Chhattisgarh as the state government, led by Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai, presents a budget aimed at fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guarantee. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma hailed the budget as not merely an accounting of income and expenditure but as a blueprint for Chhattisgarh’s advancement. He commended the absence of any new taxes, attributing the budget’s expansion to enhanced efficiency and technology utilization.
Deputy CM Sharma emphasized the government’s commitment to maintaining a robust Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), aiming for Rs 10 lakh crore by 2028. Describing the budget as the cornerstone of Chhattisgarh’s progress, he extended gratitude to CM Shri Vishnudev Sai and the government team for their vision.
Highlighting key allocations, Deputy CM Sharma outlined provisions for various sectors including Home and Jail, Panchayat and Rural Development, Technical Education, and Employment. Notable allocations include Rs 8,369 crore for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin and Rs 2,788 crore for Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, among others.
Education Minister Aggarwal: Budget Reflects People’s Expectation
Education, Tourism, and Culture Minister Shri Brijmohan Aggarwal lauded the budget for its alignment with Prime Minister Modi’s guarantees and Chhattisgarh’s development vision. He expressed confidence that the budget would propel the state towards becoming a developed entity by 2047, in line with the central government’s objectives.
Minister Aggarwal highlighted significant allocations for education, healthcare, electricity, water, and infrastructure. Notable initiatives include the establishment of control rooms in educational institutions for transparency and accountability, as well as provisions for tourism development, eco-tourism, and connectivity to the state’s cultural sites.
The minister underscored the government’s commitment to transparency and good governance, aiming to curb corruption and accelerate development. He announced the formation of an Economic Advisory Council, akin to NITI Aayog, to provide insights and oversee scheme implementation, fostering transparency and propelling Chhattisgarh towards a prosperous future.
