Chhattisgarh Celebrates Basant Panchami with Emphasis on Parental Worship

Government Advocates Reverence for Parents and Cultural Preservation

TFP Bureau, Raipur; February 13, 2024: In a move to uphold traditional values and foster cultural preservation, the Chhattisgarh government, led by Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, has declared February 14th as Mother-Father Worship Day. This announcement was made following the Chief Minister’s declaration during the Mother-Father Puja program held on February 11 in the village of Kandora in the Kunkuri development block of Jashpur district. Chhattisgarh Education and Culture Minister, Shri Brijmohan Aggarwal, emphasized the significance of imparting good values to children and preserving culture through the celebration of this day.

Echoing the sentiments expressed by Chief Minister Sai, Minister Aggarwal stressed the paramount importance of parental service and blessings, noting that there is no greater religion than serving parents. He urged citizens to worship their parents, touch their feet, and seek their blessings, asserting that life is incomplete without their service and guidance. He underscored the belief that the foundation of success in life lies in serving parents and receiving their blessings.

The announcement coincides with Basant Panchami, a day revered for its cultural significance. As part of the celebrations, Saraswati Puja and parental worship will be organized in schools across the state on February 14. The School Education Department has issued directives to conduct Saraswati Puja and parental worship ceremonies in schools, involving students and parents alike.

Minister Aggarwal emphasized the importance of instilling values in children and cultivating a sense of respect for parents and cultural heritage. He highlighted the government’s commitment to nurturing a generation that cherishes traditional values and contributes to the cultural fabric of society.

The decision to observe Mother-Father Worship Day on Basant Panchami reflects the government’s dedication to promoting familial reverence and cultural preservation, ensuring that the essence of traditional values continues to thrive in Chhattisgarh.
