TFP Bureau, Raipur; February 16, 2024: As the deadline for applications approaches, women across Chhattisgarh are actively participating in the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, with over 62 lakh applications received thus far. The scheme, aimed at promoting women empowerment, offers financial assistance of Rs 12,000 per year to eligible beneficiaries, with applications being accepted until February 20.
The Chhattisgarh government, in its bid to facilitate enrollment, has set up camps at the Panchayat and Anganwadi levels in all districts, attracting a significant turnout of women eager to register for the scheme. The enthusiastic response has led to a surge in applications, with over 2.41 lakh received on February 15 alone.
Under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, financial aid is provided to eligible women beneficiaries, with the scheme set to commence disbursements from March onwards. District-wise data reveals substantial participation, with notable numbers recorded across various regions.
In tandem with the scheme’s implementation, the Women and Child Development Department has launched a state-level helpline 18002334448 to address queries and provide assistance to beneficiaries. Operating from 10 am to 6 pm, the helpline aims to streamline communication and ensure smooth execution of the scheme.
The Women and Child Development Department serves as the nodal agency for implementing the scheme, with applications accepted through online portals, mobile apps, and offline channels. Beneficiaries can submit applications at camps organized at various locations, including Gram Panchayats and urban bodies. Additionally, the online portal offers a feature for tracking application status, enhancing transparency and accountability in the process.
