TFP Bureau, Raipur, February 16, 2024: In adherence to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai’s directives, the Health Department of Chhattisgarh has initiated the recruitment process for medical officers and specialist doctors. Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal revealed in the Assembly today that 246 MBBS doctors have been appointed as medical officers, along with 21 specialist doctors.
These newly-appointed MBBS doctors, who have recently completed their degrees, are set to serve in various capacities across the state. Notably, fifty percent of these doctors have been assigned to remote areas within Bastar and Surguja divisions, aiming to address healthcare disparities in underserved regions.
Minister Jaiswal highlighted the government’s commitment to expedite the appointment process for MBBS and specialist doctors under the National Health Mission Scheme. He assured that applicants, whether MBBS graduates or specialists, would receive appointment offers within 24 hours of application submission, streamlining the recruitment process to meet urgent healthcare needs.
Moreover, Minister Jaiswal underscored the significant vacancies within the Health Department, citing over 5,000 vacant positions for ground staff and doctors. He announced that recruitment for these positions would be conducted soon through the Public Service Commission (PSC) and Vyapam.
Echoing the Chief Minister’s vision for improved healthcare accessibility, Minister Jaiswal emphasized plans to appoint doctors in primary health centers, particularly in remote areas. This strategic move aims to enhance healthcare delivery to residents, especially those residing in underserved and remote communities.
