TFP Bureau, Raipur; February 17, 2024: In a bid to safeguard the ancient tribal culture of Bastar, Culture & Education Minister Shri Brijmohan Aggarwal announced significant initiatives during the Assembly session today. Emphasizing the government’s commitment to preserving and promoting Chhattisgarh’s rich cultural heritage, Shri Aggarwal unveiled plans to enhance funding for key cultural events in Bastar.
Shri Aggarwal highlighted the importance of Bastar’s tribal culture, emphasizing its uniqueness and historical significance. He announced a doubling of funds for organizing Bastar Dussehra, Chitrakot Mahotsav, Ramaram Mahotsav, and Goncha Parv Mahotsav, aimed at preserving and showcasing the region’s rich cultural heritage. The extended financial support is expected to contribute to the conservation and celebration of Bastar’s ancient traditions, ensuring their continuity for future generations.
The Culture Minister stressed the role of tribal culture in fostering social cohesion and identity, asserting that a vibrant cultural landscape would deter the influence of Naxalism. By investing in cultural preservation, the government aims to empower tribal communities and strengthen their connection to their roots.
In a parallel development, Education Minister Shri Brijmohan Aggarwal announced plans to promote the Chhattisgarhi language and provide employment opportunities for its speakers. Highlighting the neglect of Chhattisgarhi language under the previous administration, Shri Aggarwal unveiled initiatives to recruit MA graduates in Chhattisgarhi through PSC and Vyapam. This move aims to harness local talent and encourage linguistic diversity in the state.
Furthermore, Shri Aggarwal addressed long-standing grievances among assistant teachers and lecturers regarding promotions. He pledged to expedite promotion proceedings within six months, aiming to address dissatisfaction and reduce vacancies in the education department.
The Education Minister also outlined plans to address infrastructure deficiencies in schools, promising the reconstruction of dilapidated buildings and the construction of new ones over the next five years. Financing for these projects will be sourced from the District Mineral Foundation (DMF), with additional support sought from corporate entities through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, reflecting the government’s commitment to holistic development and public welfare.
