TFP Bureau, Raipur; February 21, 2024: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has implemented a significant measure aimed at providing relief to beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In a move to facilitate the construction of homes under the scheme, beneficiaries have been granted permission to procure sand from leased areas using small carts.
Under this decision, beneficiaries of the PM Awas Yojana will not incur any royalty charges for transporting sand in small vehicles from designated lease sites for their house construction. Finance Minister Shri OP Chaudhary announced the Chief Minister’s decision in the Assembly, highlighting the importance of expediting housing projects. He emphasized that despite a lapse of five years without progress in housing construction, the government is now actively engaged in building 18 lakh houses. This measure allows beneficiaries to expedite their construction activities by accessing sand from lease sites designated for the Prime Minister’s residence.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai’s administration has sanctioned over 18 lakh houses across the state, with construction already underway. The decision to permit sand extraction from lease sites via small vehicles underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring smooth progress in housing projects, minimizing inconvenience for beneficiaries.
