TFP Bureau, Raipur; February 22, 2024: Chhattisgarh has added another feather to its cap with the prestigious ‘India Green Energy Award, 2024’ bestowed upon the Chhattisgarh Biofuel Development Authority (CBDA), a part of the state’s energy department. The CBDA has clinched the coveted title in the ‘Outstanding Community-Based Green Energy Project’ category at the national level, as announced by the Indian Federation of Green Energy, headquartered in New Delhi.
Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Dev Sai has expressed his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the Chhattisgarh Biofuel Development Authority for this remarkable achievement, which underscores the state’s commitment to sustainable energy practices.
The award was presented to Shri Sumit Sarkar, Chief Executive Officer of CBDA, by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, at a ceremony held in New Delhi on February 21. Also in attendance was Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Shri Rameshwar Teli.
The Chhattisgarh Biofuel Development Authority has been at the forefront of pioneering initiatives for over a decade, fostering a symbiotic relationship between rural farmers and beneficiaries in the realm of biofuels and bio-energy. Notable achievements of the CBDA encompass a wide spectrum of research and development endeavors, including biodiesel, bio-ethanol, biojet aviation fuel, bio-CNG, as well as power generation from biogas and grid adjustment, signaling a significant stride towards sustainable energy solutions.
