Congress Criticizes Modi’s Decade-Long Rule; Cites BJP’s Failure on Law and Order

Chhattisgarh Congress Accuses Modi Government of Unfulfilled Promises and Deteriorating Safety

TFP Bureau,Raipur; February 25, 2024: In a scathing critique of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance, Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee lambasted the BJP-led central government for its failure to deliver on promises made over the past decade. State Congress President and MP Deepak Baij accused Modi of merely making empty promises without tangible achievements, highlighting extravagant expenditures and unfulfilled assurances.

Mr. Deepak Baij

Modi only made statements for 10 years and did not fulfill even a single promise,”remarked Deepak Baij, underscoring the disconnect between Modi’s rhetoric and reality. Baij pointed to the Prime Minister’s lavish lifestyle, including expensive attire, luxury travel, and extravagant dining habits, juxtaposing it against Modi’s self-proclaimed image of austerity and honesty.

The Congress leader challenged Modi to account for unmet pledges such as curbing inflation, doubling farmer incomes, and job creation, questioning the absence of Rs 15 lakh in citizens’ bank accounts promised by the Prime Minister. Baij emphasized Congress’s contributions to India’s progress since independence, contrasting it with what he perceived as BJP’s mismanagement and privatization of public assets.

Meanwhile, senior State Congress spokesperson Dhananjay Singh Thakur criticized the BJP government’s handling of law and order in Chhattisgarh, citing a surge in criminal activities and a breakdown of public safety.

Mr. Dhananjay Singh Thakur

Thakur highlighted a spate of violent incidents, including murders, knife attacks, and robberies, attributing the deteriorating security situation to the BJP’s inability to enforce law and order effectively.

The BJP government has proved unsuccessful in maintaining a safe living environment for the citizens,” Thakur asserted, urging the Home Minister to prioritize ground-level actions over rhetorical assurances.

He called for concrete measures to instill fear in criminals and restore public confidence in the administration, condemning the pervasive atmosphere of lawlessness that has gripped the state under BJP’s governance.
