Authorities Crack Down on Suspects Linked to Alleged Liquor Black Market

TFP Bureau, Raipur, February 26, 2024: In a major development in the ongoing probe into illegal liquor sales in Chhattisgarh, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has initiated a sweeping investigation, taking into account a detailed report submitted by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) and Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Raipur. The case, registered under crime number 04/2024 and sections 7, 12 B.R.A.D. 1988 (amended 2018), and 420, 467, 468, 471, 120B B.D.V., has prompted swift action from authorities.

Search Warrants Executed at 13 Suspects’ Residences and Establishments

Following advanced investigation deliberations, the EOW/ACB swiftly moved suspects associated with the case to the Honorable Special Court in Raipur. On February 24, 2024, search warrants were duly obtained to inspect various locations and establishments implicated in the alleged illicit liquor trade. On February 25, 2024, a coordinated operation commenced at 6:00 am, with 13 teams from the EOW/ACB conducting search and seizure operations at residences, offices, and other premises linked to the suspects.

Targets of the Raids Include High-Ranking Officials and Business Figures

Among the targeted individuals are high-ranking officials and prominent business figures allegedly involved in the illegal liquor trade. The list of locations raided includes the residences of Shri Arunpati Tripathi, Shri Niranjan Das, Shri Saurabh Bakshi, Shri Anil Tuteja, Shri Vivek Dhandh, Shri Ashok Kumar Singh, Shri Anwar Dhebar, Shri Arvind Singh, Shri Rajendra Jaiswal, Shri Bhupendra Pal Singh Bhatia, Shri Naveen Kedia, and Shri Siddharth Singhania. Additionally, search operations are ongoing at the offices and establishments linked to the suspects.
