TFP Bureau, Bilaspur; February 28, 2024: In a proactive move to streamline the impending National Lok Adalat set for March 9, 2024, Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court, emphasized the need to expedite the resolution of a myriad of cases. Joined by Justice Gautam Bhaudi, Judge at Chhattisgarh High Court, and Executive Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Legal Services Authority, Justice Sinha stressed the importance of addressing civil, criminal, and long-pending cases, especially those concerning women, senior citizens, and cases pending for over a decade.
During a virtual gathering encompassing judicial officers from various tiers of the legal system, Justice Sinha underscored the significance of resolving matters related to motor accident claims and Section-138 NI Act cases. He advocated for an increase in pre-litigation cases to ensure justice for all parties involved, reaffirming the finality of Lok Adalat decisions and the alleviation of court proceedings for concerned parties.
Echoing Justice Sinha’s sentiments, Justice Gautam Bhaduri emphasized the resolution of motor accident claim cases and Section-138 NI Act cases, urging coordination with insurance companies to facilitate expeditious settlements. Notably, the National Legal Services Authority (Nalsa) has directed the scheduling of National Lok Adalats on March 9, May 11, September 14, and December 14, with the aim of resolving a spectrum of legal issues from high courts to tehsil courts and revenue courts.
