Minister Dewangan Launches Annapurna Dal Bhaat Center at Balco

Promising Affordable Meals for Laborers

TFP Bureau, Korba, March 05, 2024 – Minister Lakhanlal Dewangan, overseeing Industry, Commerce, and Labor affairs in Chhattisgarh, inaugurated the inaugural Annapurna Dal Bhaat Center, a crucial initiative aimed at providing affordable meals to laborers, at the Balco Plant on Monday.

Under the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Shram Anna Yojana, laborers, both organized and unorganized, will have access to hot and nutritious meals for a nominal fee of Rs 5. Minister Dewangan, accompanied by Balco CEO Rajesh Kumar, personally served meals to the laborers during the ceremony, reinforcing the government’s commitment to supporting its workforce.

In his address, Minister Dewangan lauded the swift action of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai in approving the scheme, which ensures that impoverished laborers receive complete and affordable meals, alleviating their financial burdens during work hours. He emphasized the scheme’s statewide implementation through contracts, with plans to expand to an additional 22 locations beyond the existing 21 centers.

Balco CEO Shri Rajesh Kumar expressed gratitude to the Chhattisgarh government for initiating the Dal Bhaat Center, affirming the company’s dedication to the well-being and empowerment of its workers. He highlighted the invaluable contribution of laborers to the nation’s development and pledged collaboration with the government to effectively execute the scheme, ensuring all workers benefit from nutritious meals at minimal cost.

With the launch of the Annapurna Dal Bhaat Center, Balco stands at the forefront of initiatives prioritizing the welfare of laborers, underscoring a collective effort to uplift and support those pivotal to the region’s economic growth.
