TFP Raipur, March 6, 2024: In a bid to safeguard and promote traditional practices, the Chhattisgarh government has announced the introduction of certificate and diploma courses focusing on rituals, astrology, and yoga philosophy. Education Minister Shri Brijmohan Aggarwal disclosed this decision during the meeting of the Chhattisgarh Sanskrit Vidyamandalam held on Tuesday.

During the session, several pivotal decisions were reached, including the expansion of government Sanskrit Vidyamandalam schools up to class 12 across all districts in the state. Currently, there are a total of 95 such schools, with plans for additional establishments underway. Minister Aggarwal instructed private schools to enhance their operations to alleviate the financial burden on the government for constructing new school buildings.

Furthermore, Minister Aggarwal announced an increase in honorariums for teachers across various grade levels, aiming to incentivize quality education delivery. Additionally, efforts to streamline the procurement of textbooks through official printers were initiated, expected to generate substantial cost savings for the department.

In a notable move, the government is set to introduce certificate and diploma courses in rituals, astrology, and yoga philosophy to provide specialized education to practitioners in society. These courses are scheduled to commence from the upcoming academic session.

In a parallel development, the State Open School General Assembly convened under the leadership of Education Minister Brijmohan Aggarwal. Recognizing the challenges faced by students enrolled in open schools, Minister Aggarwal announced plans for online classes to be conducted through ‘Swayamprabha’ every Saturday and Sunday. Moreover, the State Open School examinations will now be held three times a year, offering greater flexibility to students.

Addressing concerns regarding examination results, Minister Aggarwal emphasized the importance of providing additional opportunities to students. Consequently, centers with fewer than 50 students will be closed, with enhanced monitoring measures implemented across all centers to ensure efficient operations and improved outcomes.
