TFP Bureau, Raipur; March 6, 2024: Senior spokesperson of the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee, Dhananjay Singh Thakur, has urged the Sai government to provide a lump sum installment of Rs 3000 to Mahtari Vandan Yojana beneficiaries for the months of January, February, and March. Thakur emphasized that while ministers have been enjoying salaries and perks since January, women enrolled in the scheme continue to face delays and bureaucratic hurdles.
Since the inception of the government, a promise was made to transfer Rs 1000 per month directly to the accounts of women beneficiaries. However, three months have passed, and only forms have been distributed, causing unnecessary delays and confusion. Thakur criticized the excessive documentation requirements, which have led to women being turned away from banks and spending valuable time navigating bureaucratic processes instead of attending to household responsibilities.
Highlighting the disparity between ministerial privileges and the struggles faced by Mahtari Vandan Yojana beneficiaries, Thakur demanded that the promised benefits be retroactively disbursed for January, February, and March. He stressed the importance of simplifying the scheme’s rules and ensuring that all eligible women receive the benefits. With approximately one crore married women in the state, Thakur emphasized the urgent need for action to alleviate their financial burdens.
