TFP Bureau, Hyderabad; March 9, 2024: In commemoration of International Women’s Day, NMDC, a leading public sector enterprise, organized a health talk aimed at female employees at its Hyderabad headquarters. The session, led by Dr. Sai Lakshmi, a renowned gynecologist from Apollo Hospitals, focused on addressing key health issues affecting women.
The event aimed to raise awareness about prevalent health challenges, with a particular emphasis on cervical and breast cancer. Dr. Sai Lakshmi underscored the significance of early detection and screening in combating these conditions, stressing the importance of preventive measures.
Expressing his thoughts on the occasion, Shri Vinay Kumar, Director (Technical) NMDC, highlighted the essential role of women in society. He remarked,
“As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we recognize the indispensable contributions of women, pivotal to India’s economic growth. With the female labor participation rate reaching 37% in 2023, it’s evident that empowering women is vital for achieving our economic goals.”
During her lecture, Dr. Sai Lakshmi commended NMDC’s initiative to provide free HPV vaccination, emphasizing its role in early prevention.
In a separate event organized by HYBIZ, notable women leaders in the industry were honored. Smt G Anupama, GM (Finance & SoT CMD), and Smt P Shanthi, GM (Commercial), were awarded the HYBIZ Women’s Leadership Award 2024 in the finance category. This recognition acknowledges their significant contributions to corporate finance and strategic management, pivotal in NMDC’s journey towards achieving remarkable milestones.
