TFP Bureau, Raipur; March 9, 2024: The National Lok Adalat concluded today across Chhattisgarh’s legal landscape, from the High Court in Bilaspur to all district courts in the state. At the helm of the proceedings in the High Court, Chief Justice Shri Ramesh Sinha, alongside Justice Shri Sachin Singh Rajput, Justice Shri Ravindra Kumar Aggarwal, and Justice Shri Arvind Kumar Verma, presided over discussions concerning the resolution of pending cases. Notably, 96 cases were successfully resolved during the Lok Adalat held in the High Court.
In a pioneering move, Chief Justice Shri Ramesh Sinha conducted virtual inspections of all district courts via video conferencing. He engaged with district and session judges, seeking updates on pending cases and the outcomes of Lok Adalats in their respective jurisdictions. Directives were issued to prioritize case resolutions to expedite justice delivery.
Special Judge Shri K. L. Charyani of the Dhamtari District Court highlighted a case of electricity theft pending for over five years, where notice couldn’t be served to the accused. With meticulous attention, the judge discovered that the accused was serving a sentence in Central Jail Raipur and had no immediate family. Collaborating with the jail authorities, the case was resolved by levying fines from the inmate’s earnings.
This synchronized inspection of all district and session courts marks a historic milestone, reflecting the judiciary’s commitment to enhancing efficiency and accessibility.
Chief Justice Shri Ramesh Sinha’s proactive approach to both physical and virtual inspections has yielded remarkable improvements in the state’s judicial system, ensuring swift and fair justice for all citizens.
