TFP Bureau, New Delhi; March 12, 2024: Union Minister for Civil Aviation and Steel, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, inaugurated Fly91, a regional airline, today and flagged off its maiden flight from Manohar International Airport (MOPA), Goa to Agatti Islands, Lakshadweep.
In his inaugural address, Shri Scindia highlighted the transformative changes in the aviation industry under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He emphasized the government’s commitment to expanding connectivity to tier 2 and tier 3 cities through the UDAN scheme, aiming to increase domestic traffic to 30 crores by 2030.
Fly91 announced that scheduled flights will commence from March 18, 2024, connecting Manohar International Airport, Goa to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jalgaon, Agatti, Pune, and Nanded, with additional routes from Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune to Sindhudurg, Jalgaon, Nanded, and Goa, phased in gradually.
The introduction of these new connections aims to meet the growing demand for enhanced connectivity nationwide, fostering tourism, trade, and commerce. It underscores the government’s commitment to providing affordable, punctual, safe, and convenient travel options for passengers.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Fly91 Chairman Shri Harsha Raghavan, Shri Asangba Chuba Ao, Joint Secretary MoCA, and other officials from AAI and the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
