TFP Bureau, Raipur; March 14, 2024: The Urban Administration and Development Department of Chhattisgarh Government has approved a substantial sum of Rs 16.28 crore for urban development projects across the state. This allocation encompasses Rs 4.83 crore for eight urban bodies under the purview of the 14th and 15th Finance Commissions.
Under the 15th Finance Commission, a total of Rs 4.79 crore was earmarked for seven urban bodies, with allocations as follows: Rs 1.17 crore for Narayanpur Municipality, Rs 15 lakh for Sargaon Nagar Panchayat, Rs 18 lakh for Kirori Malnagar Nagar Panchayat, Rs 93.35 lakh for Khongapani Nagar Panchayat, Rs 18.98 lakh for Chhura Nagar Panchayat, Rs 53.97 lakh for Simga Nagar Panchayat, and Rs 1.63 crore for Sakti Municipality. Additionally, Rs 4.13 lakh was allocated for Sarangarh Municipality under the 14th Finance Commission.
Simultaneously, the Mungeli Nagar Panchayat received a substantial boost with Rs 11.44 crore sanctioned for infrastructure development. This allocation, authorized by Deputy Chief Minister and Personal Administration Minister Shri Arun Sao, encompasses various projects including the beautification of the Agar river at a cost of Rs 3.08 crore and the construction of Giri Chowpatty amounting to Rs 48.13 lakh. Furthermore, Rs 48.32 lakh was allocated for the development of Devangan Samaj Liberationdham, and approximately Rs 26 lakh was directed towards the construction of a smart library block.
In his directives, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sao emphasized the importance of completing all projects within specified timelines and maintaining high-quality standards. The allocated funds will facilitate a wide array of development initiatives including garden enhancement, uniform ground construction, sculpture wall installations, statue installations, and road construction among others, aimed at enhancing urban infrastructure and aesthetics.
The Museum Administration and Development Department in Mungeli also received funding allocations for various projects. This includes Rs 27.59 lakh for the development of a garden near Bharat Mata Temple, Rs 35.70 lakh for ground development near Saraswati Shishu Mandir, and Rs 35.15 lakh and Rs 29.84 lakh respectively for Muktidham development in wards 11 and 12, among other allocations.
