Police Officers Deputed for Election Duty

Complaint Monitoring System Launched

TFP Bureau, Raipur, March 19, 2024: As the Lok Sabha Election-2024 approaches, the Chhattisgarh government has issued a notification stating that all state police officers will be considered on deputation to the Election Commission. The move aims to ensure smooth conduct of the elections, with police officers operating under the control of the Commission. The notification was issued by the Home Department of the Chhattisgarh Government from Mahanadi Bhawan, Nava Raipur, Atalnagar.

According to the provisions of the Representation of the People Act and the directives of the Election Commission of India, all police officers designated by the State Government for the Lok Sabha Elections-2024 will be on deputation to the Election Commission from the date of notification until the declaration of the election results.

In another development, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer has introduced the ‘Complaint Monitoring System’ software to expedite the resolution of election-related complaints during the Lok Sabha General Election-2024.

Under the guidance of Chief Electoral Officer Mrs. Reena Babasaheb Kangale, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Nileshkumar Mahadev Kshirsagar, and Joint Chief Electoral Officer Mr. P.S. Dhruv, training sessions were conducted today for departmental nodal officers to familiarize them with the system. The IT department officials provided detailed training on effective complaint resolution through the software.

Mr. Asim Thwait from NIC informed that the ‘Complaint Monitoring System’ (CMS) has been developed to facilitate the swift resolution of election-related complaints. Through this system, digitized complaints will be promptly forwarded to the nodal officers of the concerned department for resolution.

During the training, nodal officers were instructed to prioritize the resolution of election-related complaints and promptly inform the Chief Electoral Officer’s office upon resolution. Nodal officers from various departments, along with senior officers from the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, participated in the training session.
