TFP Bureau, Raipur; February 24, 2024: In response to directives from Raipur District Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh and under the guidance of Raipur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. Abinash Mishra, a series of health safety measures have been initiated across residential colonies. The aim is to ensure public health safety and hygiene in BSUP and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) colonies within the municipal corporation’s jurisdiction.
Teams comprising zone commissioners, executive engineers, and health officers have been mobilized to conduct various activities aimed at enhancing public health standards. These include collecting water samples from sources in BSUP and PMAY colonies for quality testing, cleaning sewerage lines, and launching cleanliness campaigns.
The focus is on maintaining a healthy environment in residential complexes, with extensive bleaching and spraying of lime powder underway. Additionally, teams have been instructed to prioritize water purification through chlorination of water sources. The ongoing efforts underscore the commitment of local authorities to uphold public health standards.
Commissioner Mr. Abinash Mishra personally oversaw the ongoing health check-up camp at Sankalp Society Phase-2 PMAY complex, in line with the district collector’s directives. He emphasized the importance of continuous monitoring and vigilance to ensure public health safety, particularly in the wake of reported cases of vomiting and diarrhea.
Residents have been provided with ORS packets and chlorine tablets, and urged to consume pure drinking water from municipal corporation tankers. Moreover, a concerted effort is being made to promote cleanliness in residential areas, with special cleaning campaigns conducted and sewerage lines cleaned.
Zone commissioners provided updates on the implementation of directives in their respective zones. Chlorination efforts have been undertaken in BSUP complexes, while special cleaning campaigns have been conducted to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
