12 candidates submit 18 nomination papers for Bastar constituency; Second phase nominations to commence soon

TFP Bureau, Raipur; March 27,2024: As the electoral machinery gears up for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, the nomination filing process has commenced in Chhattisgarh, marking the onset of a crucial phase in the democratic exercise. In the first phase, a total of 12 candidates have stepped forward, collectively submitting 18 nomination papers for the prestigious Bastar Lok Sabha constituency.

First Phase Nominations: Bastar Lok Sabha Constituency

Amidst a flurry of political activity, candidates vying for representation in the Bastar Lok Sabha constituency have wasted no time in staking their claims. With 18 nomination papers filed by a diverse pool of aspirants, the electoral landscape in Bastar promises to be fiercely contested. Scrutiny of the nomination papers for the first phase is slated to take place on March 28, with the deadline for withdrawal set for March 30. The electorate of Bastar will exercise their franchise on April 19 as part of the first phase of voting.

Upcoming Second Phase: Notification and Nomination Details

Looking ahead, Chief Electoral Officer Mrs. Reena Babasaheb Kangale has announced that the notification for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 in Chhattisgarh will be issued on Thursday, March 28, 2024. Under this phase, candidates will have the opportunity to file their nominations for the Mahasamund, Kanker, and Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha constituencies.

Key Dates for Second Phase Nominations

As the electoral process unfolds, aspiring candidates must adhere to the designated timeline for nomination filing. The deadline for submitting nomination papers under the second phase is April 4, 2024. Subsequently, scrutiny of nomination papers will be conducted on April 5, followed by the withdrawal of names by April 8. The electorate in the aforementioned constituencies will cast their votes on April 26, marking another significant milestone in the democratic process.
