TFP Bureau, Raipur; March 29, 2024: In a move aimed at facilitating Raipur’s business community, the Chhattisgarh government has announced that applications for the Outstanding Interest and Settlement Act (OTS) will be accepted even on government holidays. This includes the upcoming holidays on March 30 and 31.
The state government has extended the deadline for applying under the Chhattisgarh Outstanding Interest and Settlement Act (OTS), which allows for the lump sum disposal of old VAT arrears, until March 31, 2024. Recognizing that March 29, 30, and 31 are consecutive government holidays, officials have taken steps to ensure that traders and taxpayers are not disadvantaged.
In an order issued by the State Tax Commissioner, it has been mandated that employees in all divisional offices must be available to accept OTS applications during these holidays. This proactive measure aims to ensure that no defaulter misses out on the opportunity to benefit from the government’s scheme due to administrative constraints.
