TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 1, 2024: As Chhattisgarh gears up for the Lok Sabha elections, the fusion of information technology and new digital tools is reshaping the electoral landscape. The Election Commission of India, recognizing the transformative potential of technology, has integrated various mobile applications into the election process, bolstering voter participation and ensuring greater transparency.

In a bid to strengthen democratic processes, the Election Commission has developed a suite of mobile apps tailored to engage citizens at every stage of the electoral journey. These apps serve as indispensable tools for voter empowerment and streamlined communication. Here’s a glimpse of the key mobile applications revolutionizing the electoral experience:

Voter Helpline App: This user-friendly app enables voters to access essential information such as their polling booth location and serial number in the voter list by simply entering their Voter Identity Card (EPIC) number. Additionally, voters can apply for various electoral services, including addition, deletion, or amendment of their voter details.

C-Vigil App: Empowering citizens as vigilant custodians of democracy, this app allows users to report instances of Model Code of Conduct violations by uploading photos, videos, or audio recordings directly to the Election Commission. From unauthorized campaign activities to distribution of illicit inducements, citizens can swiftly report infractions for prompt action.

Saksham Mobile App: Designed to address the needs of disabled voters, this app provides a comprehensive platform for accessing electoral services tailored to their requirements. Features such as screen readers and visibility enhancements ensure inclusivity and accessibility for all voters.

Facilitation Candidate App: Streamlining the nomination process, this app enables candidates to submit their nomination forms and affidavits online, expediting administrative procedures and enhancing efficiency.

Voter Turnout App: Offering real-time updates on voter turnout during polling days, this app empowers citizens with timely information on electoral participation across all phases.

Know Your Candidate (KYC) App: Providing voters with comprehensive profiles of election candidates, including educational background, assets, and criminal records, this app facilitates informed decision-making at the ballot box.

Election Seizure Management System (ESMS) App: Ensuring accountability and transparency, this app logs all seizure proceedings conducted by enforcement authorities during elections, enabling swift action against violations.

In a parallel development, the Election Commission has announced the successful resolution of all 197 complaints received through the C-Vigil App as of April 1, 2024. This milestone underscores the efficacy of technology-driven mechanisms in upholding the integrity of the electoral process.

As the Lok Sabha Elections – 2024 unfold, these mobile applications serve as powerful instruments of citizen empowerment, fostering greater civic engagement and accountability in the electoral arena. Through seamless integration of technology and governance, Chhattisgarh charts a course towards a more inclusive and participatory democracy.
