IICA Concludes Eighth Batch of ‘IICA Certified CSR Professional Programme’ in Goa

Immersive Event Highlights Trends and Challenges in Corporate Social Responsibility

TFP Bureau, Goa, April 7, 2024 – The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) successfully wrapped up its flagship ‘IICA Certified CSR Professional Programme’ in an effort to bolster Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices across India. Hosted by IICA’s School of Business Environment (SBE), the event, held from April 4th to 6th, 2024, brought together a diverse cohort of CSR professionals, industry experts, and academicians for an immersive learning experience.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Prof. Garima Dadhich, Head of the School of Business Environment, IICA. Prof. Dadhich set the stage by discussing the evolution of CSR in India and led an insightful session on ‘A Decade of CSR in India,’ analyzing the progress and milestones achieved in the CSR landscape over the past ten years.

Dr. Ravi Raj Atrey, Chief Programme Executive at SBE, IICA, delved into the intersection of ‘ESG-CSR and Brand Building,’ underscoring the significance of integrating environmental, social, and governance factors into corporate branding strategies.

The sessions transitioned from learning to leadership, with participants presenting their Implementing Agency project reports and Corporate Attachment project reports, receiving valuable feedback from expert faculty members. Mr. Bharat Wakhlu, Founder and President of The Wakhlu Advisory, delivered an engaging session on ‘Nurturing Strategic CSR Leaders,’ emphasizing the importance of visionary leadership in the CSR domain.

Mr. Dinesh Agrawal, Principal Consultant at Consocia Advisory, provided a comprehensive overview of the ‘Legal Regime of CSR,’ offering insights into legal intricacies, compliance requirements, and amendments over the past decade. The event concluded with discussions led by Mr. Wakhlu and Mr. Agrawal on the role of CSR in fostering responsible business conduct within the ESG framework.

The final open house discussion provided delegates with an opportunity to share feedback and engage in candid dialogue with the faculties, fostering a sense of community and collaboration among attendees.

The event underscored IICA’s commitment to advancing CSR education and highlighted the collective drive towards sustainable and responsible business practices in India. Participants departed with enriched knowledge, new connections, and a renewed determination to champion CSR and sustainability initiatives.
