RECPDCL Facilitates Handover of SPVs for Power Transmission Projects in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh

RECPDCL, a subsidiary of REC Limited, oversees the transfer of Special Purpose Vehicles for crucial transmission endeavors

TFP Bureau, New Delhi, April 7, 2024:  REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a prominent subsidiary of REC Limited, orchestrated the transfer of two project-specific Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) earmarked for the execution of pivotal power transmission initiatives. These endeavors aim to bolster both interstate and intrastate transmission networks, enhancing the overall reliability and efficiency of the power grid.

The first SPV, Kallam Transco Limited, has been established for the “Western Region Network Expansion Scheme in Kallam area of Maharashtra,” an Inter State Transmission Project sanctioned by the Ministry of Power, Government of India. RECPDCL officially handed over the SPV to M/s Indigrid 2 Limited & Indigrid 1 Limited (Consortium), the successful bidder entrusted with the project’s implementation.

In tandem, another SPV named Jalpura Khurja Power Transmission Limited has been established for the “Construction of 400/220 kV, 2×500 MVA GIS substation Metro Depot (Greater Noida) with associated lines and 400/220 kV, 2×500 MVA GIS substation Jalpura,” an intrastate project sanctioned by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The SPV was transferred to M/s The Tata Power Company Limited, the designated entity entrusted with executing the project.

The ceremonial handover of the SPVs took place on April 5, 2024, in the esteemed presence of RECPDCL CEO, Shri Rajesh Kumar, alongside senior officials from RECPDCL, REC Limited, Central Transmission Utility of India Limited, and Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Limited.

RECPDCL, serving as the Bid Process Coordinator for both endeavors, facilitated the transparent and efficient execution of these projects through a rigorous tariff-based bidding process, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and fostering a competitive environment conducive to optimal outcomes.
