Congress Candidate Bhupesh Baghel Criticizes BJP’s Ration Policy, Vows Economic Rejuvenation

Baghel Promises Renewed Economic Empowerment if Congress Comes to Power

TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 13, 2024: Bhupesh Baghel, Congress candidate from Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha, launched a scathing attack on the central and state governments, accusing them of depriving the public of essential rations. Displaying ration cards from Congress rule and the current BJP government, Baghel alleged that the BJP administration has reduced the monthly rice allocation from 35 kg to a mere 5 kg per family member.

Addressing the issue, Baghel questioned the rationale behind slashing the ration allocation, highlighting concerns over the fate of surplus rice and its potential diversion to private entities. He asserted that while the BJP previously focused on exploiting Chhattisgarh’s resources, including water, forests, and land, they are now targeting essential food supplies to enrich private interests.

Baghel outlined Congress’s vision for economic revitalization, promising an annual grant of Rs 1 lakh to impoverished women, equivalent to Rs 8,333 per month. He pledged significant job creation initiatives and proposed doubling the remuneration for community health workers, Anganwadi staff, and mid-day meal providers. Baghel also emphasized the establishment of a permanent commission to facilitate farm loan waivers and a substantial increase in pension benefits for seniors, widows, and disabled individuals.

Urging voter participation, Baghel emphasized the transformative impact of every vote in shaping the country’s trajectory. He appealed for public support in the upcoming elections, highlighting the profound influence of electoral choices on individual lives and national governance.

Baghel’s campaign journey, which commenced from Anjora and traversed through several villages including Kopedih, Devada, Tedesara, Navagaon, and others, witnessed active participation from prominent Congress figures, including District Congress President Bhagwat Sahu, Assembly candidate Girish Dewangan, and Block President Ghanshyam Dewangan, among others. The campaign garnered substantial support from enthusiastic Congress workers and local residents alike, underscoring growing momentum in the lead-up to the elections.
