TFP Bureau, Raipur; April 17, 2024: The Election Commission of India has finalized the voting schedule for Bastar Parliamentary Constituency, which will go to polls on April 19, 2024, during the first phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
According to the Election Commission’s notification, voting will take place in various assembly constituencies under Bastar parliamentary constituency from 7 am to 3 pm. However, in the Bastar assembly constituency, polling will continue till 5 pm. Additionally, voting will take place in 175 polling stations of Jagdalpur assembly constituency from 7 am to 5 pm and in 72 polling stations from 7 am to 3 pm.
Mrs. Reena Babasaheb Kangale, Chief Electoral Officer, emphasized that all voters must present their Electoral Photo Identity Cards issued by the Election Commission of India to confirm their identity at the polling booth.
In cases where voters are unable to present their Electoral Photo Identity Card, the Election Commission has authorized 12 alternative photo identity documents. These documents include Aadhaar Card, MNREGA Job Card, Driving License, PAN Card, Indian Passport, Pension documents with photo, Service Identity Cards with photo issued by Central/State Government/PSU/Public Limited Companies, Passbooks with photo issued by Banks/Post Offices, Smart cards issued by RGI under NPR, health insurance smart cards, government identity cards issued to MPs/MLAs/Legislative Council members, and Unique Disability ID (UDID) card.
Overseas electors registered in the electoral rolls on the basis of their passport details will be identified at the polling station based solely on their original passport.
These measures aim to facilitate a smooth voting process and ensure that all eligible voters can exercise their right to vote during the Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
