TFP Bureau, Raipur, April 17, 2024: State Congress President and MP Deepak Baij hailed the recent success achieved by security forces in Kanker district as historic, applauding the bravery and valor of our soldiers. He highlighted the significant reduction of Naxalite activities in the state over the past five years, attributing it to the strong policy initiatives of the Congress government in the Naxal-affected areas.
Under the Congress government’s approach of emphasizing trust, development, and security, Naxalism has been curtailed by 80 percent, particularly in Bastar. This strategic policy has led to Kondagaon district being removed from the highly sensitive Naxal-affected list. President Baij emphasized that these measures have restored confidence among the people of Bastar towards security forces, resulting in tangible successes on the ground.
President Baij reiterated the Congress party’s steadfast support for efforts to establish peace, emphasizing the party’s commitment to ending terrorism and Naxalism while ensuring the delivery of education, health, and employment rights to the people in affected areas. He urged the people of Bastar to vote fearlessly on April 19, assuring them of robust security measures against Naxal threats.
In light of the government transition, President Baij urged the BJP government to clarify its policy on Naxalism, echoing the need for transparency and continuity in addressing security challenges. He stressed the importance of maintaining trust and stability in Bastar, calling for a clear public stance from the present government to avoid confusion and ensure continued progress in the region.
