TFP Bureau, Raipur; April 18, 2024: As the Lok Sabha Election 2024 kicks off with the first phase in Bastar Lok Sabha constituency, a dedicated control room has been established at the office of Chief Electoral Officer Smt. Reena Babasaheb Kangale to monitor voting activities closely. Utilizing advanced webcasting technology, the Chief Electoral Officer personally oversees the election proceedings from the control room.
In the first phase of Lok Sabha Election 2024, webcasting will cover 811 out of 1961 polling stations in Bastar Lok Sabha constituency. Prior to voting, comprehensive testing has been conducted at all centers to ensure seamless live video streaming. Live footage from 144 polling stations can be simultaneously viewed on 16 large screens at the command and control center within the Chief Electoral Officer’s office. The display rotates district-wise and legislature-wise every 30 seconds, enabling comprehensive monitoring of polling station activities.
In adherence to Election Commission of India directives, live footage is being captured from half of the total polling stations via webcasting to ensure transparent and impartial elections. Cameras have been strategically placed both inside and outside polling stations to monitor voter queues and other activities during the election process.
During subsequent phases of the Lok Sabha elections, webcasting will extend to 3243 polling stations in the second phase and 7856 polling stations across seven Lok Sabha constituencies in the third and final phase. This comprehensive live streaming will enable real-time monitoring of polling activities across a total of 11,910 polling stations throughout all three stages. The live video feed ensures independent and impartial oversight of election proceedings at the district and headquarters levels of the Election Commission of India.
