TFP Bureau, Raipur; April 20, 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address election rallies in Janjgir-Champa and Mahasamund Lok Sabha constituencies on April 23rd, intensifying the BJP’s campaign ahead of the upcoming phases of the Lok Sabha elections in Chhattisgarh. Shri Modi’s schedule includes a meeting in Sakti Assembly at 3:15 pm followed by another in Dhamtari at 5 pm. Finance Minister OP Chaudhary and Tankram Verma have been appointed as coordinators for the respective constituencies.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Raipur and Kanker on the night of April 21st comes in the wake of the recent encounter resulting in the death of 29 Naxalites in Kanker. Shah plans to convene at Raipur’s Kushabhau Thackeray campus to strategize on election tactics alongside Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, Deputy CM Vijay Sharma, Arun Sao, and other key ministers. This will be followed by a meeting in Kanker on April 22nd before departing for Maharashtra.
The electoral landscape in Chhattisgarh is gaining momentum with the Lok Sabha elections divided into three phases. Following the completion of voting in the Bastar seat in the first phase, attention now turns to the second phase scheduled for April 26th, encompassing Rajnandgaon, Kanker, and Mahasamund. Simultaneously, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi will engage in campaign activities in Dongargaon and Balod on the same day.
