“Our freedom struggle was led by Gandhiji, and he was a great leader. If the people of this country had not been united, we would never have gained independence,” she stated,
emphasizing the pivotal role of unity in securing constitutional rights, including the right to vote.Touching on current economic challenges, Priyanka Gandhi highlighted inflation as a pressing issue affecting daily life.
“You are working hard day and night, but inflation has made everything expensive. The prices of petrol and diesel have increased, affecting farmers’ livelihoods,” she expressed.
Accusing the Modi government of favoring industrialists over citizens, she stated,
“Modi government is the government of some industrialists. Whenever there has been a Congress government, it has protected the culture and rights of the people.”
In a direct attack on the BJP’s alleged intentions, Priyanka Gandhi claimed,
“Some BJP leaders are saying that if they get 400 seats, they will change the Constitution. This is a conspiracy of BJP. BJP wants to weaken the rights of the people.”
Supporting Priyanka Gandhi’s sentiments, Congress’s Chhattisgarh in-charge Sachin Pilot echoed the call for change, citing a visible wave of transformation across the state and the nation.
“Modi ji’s 10-year-old government has given only statements and promises,” he stated,
outlining the Congress’s pledges to prioritize farmers’ welfare and youth employment.
Former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel also addressed the gathering, highlighting the achievements of the Congress government and criticizing the policies of the current BJP administration.
“Ever since the BJP government came to power, crime has increased, and Chhattisgarh has become a hub of crime,” Baghel asserted.
State Congress President Deepak Baij underscored the stakes of the upcoming elections, calling for a change to save the Constitution and democracy.
“The condition of the country has worsened in the last 10 years under the BJP government,” he emphasized, pointing to rising inflation, unemployment, and crime.
