TFP Bureau, Raipur; April 29, 2024: The Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee has voiced strong concerns over the continued operation of the Mahadev App, alleging that it is still running under the protection of the double-engine government (BJP-led government at both the state and center levels).
Reacting to the recent arrest of a film actor associated with the Mahadev App, Sushil Anand Shukla, Chairman of the Congress Communication Department, criticized the BJP for failing to take decisive action against the illicit app. Shukla highlighted that despite sporadic actions and statements by BJP leaders, the Mahadev App remains active, enjoying patronage from both the Central and State governments.
Shukla raised pointed questions directed at the BJP:
1. Why hasn’t the Central Government taken steps to ban the Mahadev App?
2. Why have investigative agencies not registered the names of individuals associated with BJP leaders in FIRs related to the Mahadev App?
3. What is the nature of the relationship between Shubham Soni and the BJP, considering a video byte featuring Soni was released by the party?
4. Why have individuals like Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, who are linked with BJP leaders, not been interrogated?
5. Why has the Enforcement Directorate (ED) not taken steps to arrest Shubham Soni, Saurabh Chandrakar, and Ravi Uppal and bring them back from Dubai?
6. Why were certain names omitted from FIRs by the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) despite being highlighted in ED letters?
7. Has the ED questioned the owner of the Innova car seized during Aseem Das’s arrest, reportedly owned by the brother of BJP MLA Amar Aggarwal?
8. Why was Shubham Soni not apprehended during his visit to Dubai for counseling?
Shukla emphasized that while the Congress government had previously taken action against the Mahadev App and urged the BJP-led central government to shut it down and arrest its operators, no tangible progress has been made. He questioned the motives behind the BJP’s inaction, suggesting potential ties between the party and entities associated with the Mahadev App.
Sushil Anand Shukla, Chairman of the Congress Communication Department, concluded by suggesting that if the BJP truly opposed betting, the central government would not condone it by collecting GST revenues from such activities.
