Security Beefed Up in Raipur for Smooth Lok Sabha Voting**

Extensive Deployment of Forces and Stringent Monitoring Measures in Place

TFP Bureau, Raipur, May 6, 2024: Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in Raipur, a robust security arrangement has been put in place with 18 CAPF companies, 7 CAF companies, and over 1995 personnel from police forces, home guards, forest guards, and Kotwars actively engaged in election duty.

On the day of the elections, the Raipur Police will maintain continuous patrolling with 137 patrolling parties, ensuring vigilance and swift response to any incidents that may arise.

In adherence to the Model Code of Conduct, Inspector General of Police Raipur Range Amresh Mishra and Senior Superintendent of Police Raipur Santosh Singh have overseen numerous actions and arrests by the police, enforcing strict compliance with election guidelines. Additional preparations have been made to ensure a smooth voting process.

Raipur district has seen the deployment of 18 CAPF companies (comprising CRPF and SSB personnel), 7 Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) companies, and over 1995 other personnel who will remain on duty a day before and during the voting period.

Working alongside the district election team, the District Police Force and CAPF personnel are conducting thorough checks on vehicles and individuals through 24 Flying Squad Teams (FST), 25 Static Surveillance Teams (SST), and 5 other police checkpoints across the district. To maintain peace during the voting process, two to three patrolling parties have been assigned to each police station area, totaling approximately 90 patrolling parties and 16 AD parties. Additional superintendents of police and city superintendents of police/deputy superintendents of police have been strategically deployed, ensuring effective coordination among all patrolling parties through wireless communication.

In light of the Lok Sabha elections, the Police are actively monitoring all social media platforms through the Social Media Monitoring Cell. It is strictly prohibited to carry mobile phones inside polling booths on voting day, and any attempt to violate the secrecy of voting by sharing photos or videos on social media will result in legal action.

Furthermore, the Election Commission has implemented webcasting through CCTV cameras at numerous polling stations to closely monitor the voting process. Intensive patrolling and monitoring with CCTV cameras and civil teams have been implemented across all police station areas to facilitate a seamless and secure voting experience.

Senior Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh has urged residents to participate enthusiastically in the voting process, emphasizing the importance of strengthening democracy through active electoral participation.

Today, Collector Gaurav Singh and SSP Santosh Singh inspected the arrangements at Strong Room Sejbahar and BTI and visited polling booths to review preparations and issue necessary directives.

The residents of Raipur are encouraged to exercise their franchise diligently to uphold the principles of democracy and ensure a successful electoral process.
