TFP Bureau, Raipur; May 13, 2024: The summer vacation has officially begun at the Chhattisgarh High Court in Bilaspur, marking the start of a period of respite for court proceedings. On the inaugural day of the vacation, Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha, following the completion of hearings in his court, personally supervised the ongoing verification process of pending cases across judicial branches.
In compliance with directives from the Supreme Court, efforts are underway to identify and address redundant pending cases. Chief Justice Sinha has instructed judicial officers and court staff to compile lists of such cases in various categories, including writs, criminal appeals, revisions, and contempt proceedings. The meticulous verification process aims to streamline the judicial system and expedite the resolution of relevant cases.
Chief Justice Sinha personally visited each branch to assess the progress of the verification work and ensure its thoroughness. He emphasized the importance of regular monitoring and instructed the Registrar General and Registrar Judicial to provide daily reports on the verification process.
Furthermore, Chief Justice Sinha announced his intention to conduct surprise inspections periodically to maintain the integrity and efficiency of the verification efforts.
The initiation of the summer vacation provides an opportunity for the High Court to address administrative tasks and enhance operational efficiency, ultimately contributing to the delivery of justice in a timely manner.
