TFP Bureau, Raipur; May 14, 2024: In the wake of recent incidents in Mumbai, Raipur Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Mr. Abinash Mishra, convened a crucial meeting with advertising agencies and municipal officials to address concerns regarding the safe installation of hoardings within the city. The primary directive from Commissioner Mishra was for all advertising agencies to conduct a thorough structural investigation of their hoardings and submit detailed reports to the Municipal Corporation within a week.
During the meeting held at the Raipur Municipal Corporation headquarters, Commissioner Mishra emphasized the critical need for ensuring the structural integrity of all hoardings across the city. Referencing the tragic incident in Mumbai where 14 lives were lost due to a collapsed hoarding during a storm, Commissioner Mishra stressed the importance of preventing similar incidents in Raipur. He urged advertising agencies to take proactive measures to guarantee the safety and stability of hoardings, thereby mitigating any potential risks to public safety.
Commissioner Mishra instructed representatives from over 90 advertising agencies present at the meeting to prioritize the structural assessment of their hoardings and promptly furnish the necessary certificates to the Municipal Corporation’s regulatory department. The objective is to assess the stability of hoardings and ensure they meet stringent safety standards to avoid accidents or mishaps in Raipur.
The meeting also addressed the effective implementation of the advertisement policy within the Raipur Municipal Corporation area, with specific guidelines provided to advertising agencies to adhere to safety protocols and preventive measures. Key officials including City Investor Mr. Nishikant Verma, Assistant Engineer Mr. Ashutosh Singh, and Deputy Engineer Mr. Vikas Sahu were present to deliberate on these critical measures aimed at safeguarding public well-being.
