Chief Minister Ensures Availability of Agricultural Inputs and Prepares for Monsoon Diseases

Ensuring Quality Inputs for Farmers

TFP Bureau, Raipur; June 4,2024: In anticipation of the upcoming Kharif season, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai has directed officials to ensure an ample supply of fertilizers and seeds through cooperative societies. Emphasizing the importance of quality agricultural inputs, the Chief Minister urged officials to monitor storage and distribution closely. He instructed them to facilitate timely access to fertilizers and seeds for farmers by June 15 and warned of strict action against negligent officials.

Chief Minister Sai particularly highlighted the demand for DAP fertilizers during the Kharif season and called for vigilant monitoring of its supply. Special campaigns for quality testing and sampling of fertilizers and seeds have been initiated to uphold quality standards.

Preventing Rain-Borne Diseases

Simultaneously, the Chief Minister has directed efforts towards preventing rain-borne diseases. Teams from various departments, including Public Health Engineering, Municipal Bodies, and Health, have been instructed to remain alert. Adequate stocks of life-saving medicines are to be maintained across all healthcare facilities, with a focus on cleaning and chlorinating water sources to prevent diseases like vomiting, diarrhea, and malaria.

The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of raising awareness, particularly in areas prone to snakebites, ensuring the availability of anti-snake venom in health centers. Additionally, mass awareness campaigns are underway to educate the public on preventing rain-related illnesses, including measures to eliminate mosquito breeding sites and seeking medical assistance promptly for symptoms of illness.
