Chhattisgarh Congress Condemns Mob Lynching Incident as a Stigma on the State

State Congress Blames Government for Failing Law and Order Situation

TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 8, 2024: The Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee has strongly condemned the recent mob lynching incident near the capital, Raipur, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. The incident in Arang has been described as a tragic consequence of the state’s deteriorating law and order situation.

State Congress Communication Department President Sushil Anand Shukla expressed deep sorrow and anger over the event, attributing it to the government’s failure to maintain control. Shukla criticized the ruling party for allegedly protecting anarchic elements, leading to a rise in criminal activities. He called the deaths a “stigma on the forehead of the state,” questioning how such lawlessness could be allowed to occur.

“The audacity of these individuals to form a gang and take the law into their own hands is shocking. The government must provide answers and disclose the affiliations of those involved,” Shukla stated. He emphasized that if someone is found guilty of wrongdoing, they should face legal consequences as outlined in the constitution, not mob justice.

Shukla further criticized the BJP-led state government for its inability to manage law and order effectively. He accused the government of fostering an environment where crime thrives under the protection of those in power. In just five months, he noted, Chhattisgarh has seen a surge in various criminal activities, including theft, robbery, murder, and now, mob lynching.

The Congress leader urged immediate and strict action against the perpetrators and called for an end to such violent acts in a civilized society.
