Six Months of Vishnu Dev Sai Government: Development Resumes with Good Governance

Historic Decisions Made for Farmers, Women, and Youth

TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 13, 2024: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, Chhattisgarh has resumed its development trajectory, emphasizing good governance. In the past six months, the Sai government has made historic decisions benefiting farmers, women, and youth. Aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India, a vision document has been initiated to aim for a developed Chhattisgarh by 2047.

During the assembly elections, the Sai government promised the people of Chhattisgarh happiness and prosperity through good governance. To this end, a separate Good Governance and Convergence Department was established to ensure the effective implementation of welfare policies and rapid resolution of public issues. The Atal Monitoring Portal, launched on December 25, 2023, on Good Governance Day, monitors the state government’s ambitious schemes.

Several key initiatives have been rolled out, including the approval of Pradhan Mantri Awas for 18 lakh homeless families, a bonus for over 13 lakh paddy farmers, purchasing paddy at Rs 3,100 per quintal, and providing a monthly allowance to women from poor families under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. Efforts to combat Maoism in affected areas have also intensified, with the launch of the Niyada Nellnar Yojana.

Key Initiatives and Achievements:

1. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana: The government approved housing for 18,12,743 needy families, with a budget of Rs 12,168 crore.

2. Paddy Bonus: A pending paddy bonus of Rs 3,716 crore was transferred to the accounts of 13 lakh farmers.

3. Paddy Purchase: The government purchased paddy at Rs 3,100 per quintal, with a record procurement of 145 lakh metric tonnes in the Kharif season.

4. Mahtari Vandan Yojana: Over 70 lakh women receive Rs 1,000 monthly under this scheme, initiated in the virtual presence of Prime Minister Modi.

5. Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana: This scheme provides free transportation to Ayodhya for devotees.

6. Tendupatta Collection Rate: The remuneration rate for tendupatta collection increased to Rs 5,500 per standard sack.

7. Youth Employment: A five-year age relaxation for government job applicants and the introduction of the Udyam Kranti Yojana to support youth self-employment.

8. PSC Examination Reform: The PSC exam process is being revamped for transparency, modeled after the UPSC.

9. Infrastructure Development: New flights from Bilaspur and Jagdalpur, expansion of airstrips, and extensive road, rail, and air connectivity projects.

10. Free Ration: The state will provide free ration to 68 lakh poor families for five years.

11. Rajim Kumbh Kalpa: The Rajim fair has been expanded and renamed Rajim Kumbh Kalpa, with support for historical fairs in Bastar.

12. IT Hub in Raipur: Plans to develop Raipur as an IT hub, with MoUs signed with two IT companies.

13. Health Scheme: The Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Health Scheme will expand healthcare facilities alongside Ayushman Bharat.

14. Higher Education: Establishing technology institutes on the lines of IITs in various districts and implementing the National Education Policy 2020.

15. State Capital Region (SCR): A detailed plan for the SCR’s development will promote urban growth.

16. Industrial Corridor: The Korba-Bilaspur Industrial Corridor will boost industrial activities, and an online e-transit pass system for mineral transportation has been reintroduced for transparency.

17. Economic Advisory Council: The council will advise on accelerating economic development and implementing best practices.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai is set to conduct a series of review meetings from June 13 to ensure administrative efficiency and prioritize public welfare programs. The government continues to work rapidly to bring its schemes to the common citizens and prepare for further development initiatives.
