G Kishan Reddy Takes Charge as Union Minister of Coal and Mines

Focus on Self-Reliance and Transparency in Coal and Mining Sector

TFP Bureau, New Delhi; June 13, 2024: G Kishan Reddy has officially assumed his role as the Union Minister of Coal and Mines. The transition was marked by a formal handover from the former Union Minister of Coal, Mines, and Parliamentary Affairs, Pralhad Joshi, in the presence of Minister of State for Coal and Mines, Satish Chandra Dubey, who took charge on June 11, 2024.

Senior officials, including V.L. Kantha Rao, Secretary of the Ministry of Mines, and Amrit Lal Meena, Secretary of the Ministry of Coal, attended the ceremony.

In his first address as the Union Minister, Reddy expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the opportunity to serve in this capacity. He emphasized that the ministries of Coal and Mines would prioritize determination, devotion, dedication, honesty, and transparency in their operations to achieve self-reliance (AtmaNirbhar Bharat) in the coal and mining sectors.
