TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 15, 2024: The Chhattisgarh government is set to streamline its revenue administration through the implementation of a digital crop survey, known as e-girdawari, using geo-referencing technology. Revenue Minister Tank Ram Verma disclosed this during a departmental review meeting.
The initiative aims to reduce land disputes and simplify the process of crop registration. The geo-referencing of land, currently being expedited by the Revenue Department, is a crucial component of this plan.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has emphasized the importance of leveraging IT to enhance transparency and efficiency in government operations. Following this directive, Minister Verma urged revenue officers to complete the geo-referencing of land swiftly.
Anti-Corruption Measures and Public Service Enhancement
Minister Verma assured that strict action would be taken against any corruption within the department. He emphasized the need for revenue officers to address public grievances with sensitivity, particularly concerning land transfers, partitions, demarcations, and diversions.
He also stressed the importance of issuing income and caste certificates promptly, especially during the academic session, to prevent inconvenience to students.
Campaign to Correct Land Records
A campaign will be launched to rectify errors in farmers’ land records, with applications accepted at the Panchayat level. Minister Verma directed that undisputed transfer cases should not be unnecessarily rejected and must be handled according to regulations.
Increasing Revenue Receipts
Verma called for efforts to enhance the state’s revenue receipts through transparent and honest practices. He highlighted the importance of recovering pending fees for diverted land, as increased revenue will support development and public welfare projects.
Strategic Plan for Revenue Resolution
Revenue Secretary Avinash Champawat stated that a robust strategy is being developed to expedite the resolution of revenue-related cases. Director Ramesh Sharma added that the Bhuiya software is being updated to maintain accurate revenue records, and the construction of permanent land markers, known as Chanda-Munara, is progressing rapidly.
This comprehensive approach aims to improve the efficiency and transparency of Chhattisgarh’s revenue administration, benefiting farmers and citizens alike.
