TFP Bureau, Raipur; June 16, 2024: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma paid tribute to the martyred soldier, Mr. Nitesh Ekka, who lost his life in a Naxalite encounter in Narayanpur district. The leaders personally escorted the martyr’s body to his hometown in Jashpur district, honoring his sacrifice.
In a solemn ceremony, Chief Minister Sai emphasized that the ultimate sacrifice made by the brave soldiers would not be in vain.
“Our government has intensified the fight against Naxalites, and we are committed to establishing peace in the region,” he said. The Chief Minister met with the family of the fallen soldier, offering his condolences and support.
The tribute ceremony was attended by prominent figures including MLA Mr. Motilal Sahu, DGP Mr. Ashok Juneja, and other senior officials. The martyred constable was a part of a joint operation involving the DRG, STF, and BSF in the Parsabeda-Dhurbeda area, which resulted in a fierce encounter on June 15, leaving eight Maoists dead and two security personnel injured.
Following this, Chief Minister Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Sharma visited Ramakrishna Care Hospital in Raipur to meet the injured soldiers from the same Naxalite encounter. They interacted with STF jawan Shri Kailash Netam, who, despite his injuries, expressed his determination to continue the fight, saying, “I will kill and kill.”
This display of resilience and patriotism from the injured soldier deeply moved the Chief Minister.
“This passion, even in the face of injury, reflects the heroic tradition of India’s sacrificial heroes,” Sai remarked, drawing a parallel to the legendary Captain Vikram Batra from the Kargil War.
The Chief Minister also inquired about the health of another injured STF soldier, Mr. Lekharam Netam, who was in the operation theater, and DRG jawan Mr. Lachhu Kadhati, injured in a separate attack in Bijapur. He assured the best possible medical care for all injured personnel.
The visit concluded with words of encouragement from the Chief Minister, who wished the soldiers a swift recovery and emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting its brave forces.
