State Government to Promote Yoga Among Masses Through Yoga Commission

TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 21 2024:  Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai participated in a state-level mass yoga event at Science College Ground in Raipur on International Yoga Day. Alongside thousands of attendees, he performed yoga asanas, emphasizing the importance of regular yoga practice for a healthy lifestyle.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Shri Sai said,

“It is a pleasure to see the global objectives of Yoga Day being realized today. Yoga is being promoted worldwide, with significant awareness in India. The enthusiasm here today reflects the same spirit across all districts, blocks, and villages of the state. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s suggestion to the United Nations to celebrate June 21 as International Yoga Day has led to this global celebration.”

He highlighted that yoga means connection, linking mind and body, and connecting us with spirituality and higher values.

“Yoga is essential not only for a healthy life but also for the creation of a healthy society. Our government will work continuously to involve more people in the state with yoga through the Yoga Commission,” he added.

Addressing students, Chief Minister Shri Sai emphasized the benefits of including yoga in daily routines, such as improved concentration, memory, and stress relief.

Women and Child Development and Social Welfare Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade also spoke, celebrating International Yoga Day as a recognition of global unity and well-being. “Yoga is not just an exercise but a way of life,” she stated, stressing its importance for building a healthy family, society, country, and world.

The event saw participation from MLAs Shri Rajesh Munat, Shri Anuj Sharma, Guru Khushwant Saheb, Chief Minister’s Secretary Shri P. Dayanand, Women and Child Development Secretary Smt. Shammi Abidi, Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh, SSP Shri Santosh Singh, Yoga Commission Secretary Shri Pankaj Verma, and many public representatives, citizens, and students.
