Unified Command Meeting in Raipur Focuses on Anti-Naxal Operations and Regional Coordination

TFP Bureau, Raipur; June 28, 2024: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai chaired a Unified Command meeting at Circuit House, Raipur, on Friday, emphasizing the state’s commitment to completely eradicating the Naxal issue in Chhattisgarh. He noted a significant decline in Naxal activities, attributing this success to effective joint operations by Central Security Forces and the Chhattisgarh Police, facilitated by improved coordination.

The state government has ramped up anti-Naxal operations while accelerating development efforts under the new “Niyad Nellaner Yojana,” boosting public trust in the government and administration. Chief Minister Sai directed officials to prioritize development projects in Naxal-affected areas, with a focus on completing high-quality road construction, bridges, and other government projects within the stipulated timeframe. He also instructed them to provide necessary security to expedite ongoing construction work.

The meeting addressed the need to enhance the police intelligence network in Naxal-affected regions and conduct anti-Naxal campaigns with the support and trust of local villagers. Issues faced by security personnel in these areas were discussed, with the Chief Minister instructing officials to ensure the availability of essential facilities and resources at security force camps.

Coordination with neighboring states, particularly Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha, was a key focus, including joint operations in border areas, surveillance of connecting routes by security forces, and information sharing. The Chief Minister emphasized that local villagers should not face any inconvenience during anti-Naxal operations.

Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, DGP Shri Ashok Juneja, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Shri Manoj Pingua, senior officials from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, State Government Home Department, Central Security Forces, State Police, and various development agencies attended the meeting.
