TFP Bureau, New Delhi; June 30, 2024: Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, will inaugurate a special month-long campaign aimed at resolving family pension grievances on 1 July 2024. This initiative, part of the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare’s (DOPPW) 100 Days Action Plan, will see participation from 46 Ministries and Departments, focusing on reducing the backlog of family pension complaints.
Currently, about 90,000 cases are registered annually on the Centralized Pension Grievance and Redress System (CPENGRAMS), with family pension issues constituting 20-25% of these grievances, predominantly affecting women pensioners. The campaign will specifically address 1891 identified grievances, largely from Defence, Railway, and CAPFs pensioners, along with bank-related issues.
The launch event will include key officials from various departments and organizations, including the Secretaries of Departments of Pension and Pensioners Welfare, Ex-Servicemen’s Welfare, DG BSF, Controller General of Accounts, and the Deputy Managing Director of State Bank of India, as well as representatives from Pension Disbursing Banks and Pensioners’ Welfare Associations.
DOPPW will oversee and assist in the grievance redressal process, ensuring a mission-mode approach. Success stories from the campaign will be shared via social media and PIB statements using the hashtag #SpecialCampaignFamilyPension. The initiative aims to streamline and expedite the resolution process, bringing relief to family pensioners across the country.
