Chief Minister Highlights Tribal Contribution to Freedom Struggle

Announces Rs 1.77 Crore for Development Projects at Rani Durgavati Balidan Diwas

TFP Bureau, Raipur, June 30, 2024: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai attended the inauguration of a cultural building and the Rani Durgavati Balidan Diwas celebrations organized by the Adivasi Gond Samaj Maawali Mahasabha in Bhatapara. He was warmly welcomed by the society’s officials, who adorned him with a turban.

During the event, Chief Minister Shri Sai announced Rs 22 lakh for the construction of the compound of the tribal society’s social building and Rs 25 lakh for a CC road. Additionally, he allocated Rs 1.30 crore for the construction of the road from Gurra to Jogidweep Mela Sthal and instructed the collector to prepare a proposal for the road from Tarenga to Dauranga.

The Chief Minister also handed over house keys to five beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Cards to three beneficiaries, caste certificates to four beneficiaries, and honored meritorious students of the society. Notable attendees included Raipur MP Shri Brijmohan Agarwal, MLA Bilha Shri Dharam Lal Kaushik, and former MLA Shri Shivratan Sharma.

In his address, Chief Minister Shri Sai highlighted the central government’s efforts under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to promote tribal pride, including the establishment of Tribal Pride Day on November 15 and a grand memorial for Rani Durgavati in Jabalpur. He noted that the President of India, Smt. Draupadi Murmu, hails from the tribal community, marking a proud moment for all.

The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of education for the progress of tribal society and advised the youth to avoid substance abuse, urging them to channel their energy into positive pursuits. He reiterated the government’s commitment to fulfilling promises, including the transfer of outstanding paddy bonuses, purchasing paddy at Rs 3100, and providing financial assistance to women under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana.

Shri Sai also echoed Prime Minister Modi’s call to plant a tree in the name of one’s mother, stressing the importance of tree planting for environmental conservation. The event concluded with addresses from Raipur MP Shri Brijmohan Agarwal and other dignitaries, who praised the efforts to enhance the welfare and unity of the tribal community. A large number of officials and social workers from rural and tribal areas attended the function.
